We are compiling a list of wireless locations in Marin & Sonoma County, let us know if you have locations to add or delete. Thanks. In looking at Wireless access in the Counties, one is suprised at the amount of places that don’t offer free wireless. You would think for the amount of money we spend at Marin County/Sonoma county prices at least they could kick in free wireless.

3/3/08 - My latest find is at Noonan’s Restaurant & Bar the other night in Larkspur Landing. They do have free wireless, but the performance was very slow, intermittent, and generally annoying. This was on a Tuesday night. Tomorrow night I am going to Eat Restaurant in San Anselmo and they supposedly have free wifi. I will let you guys know how the connection is.

The Marin County Free Library offers free wireless network access at the Civic Center, Corte Madera, Fairfax, Marin City, Novato, Tiburon, and South Novato libraries. Sonoma County Libraries offer wifi as well, as long as you have a Sonoma County Library Card.

Borders Bookstore on 588 Francisco Boulevard West in San Rafael has wireless service through T-Mobile Hotspot. You can get one free day of wireless, but then you have to commit to a paid plan either annually or month to month. Their day pass for 24 hours is 9.99.

The Embassy Suites San Rafael on 101 Mcinnis Pkwy in Terra Linda (San Rafael, CA) has wireless access. According to Jwire, Embassy Suites has 2 free wireless providers and BOINGO, but according to a review from last Summer, there was a charge for wireless service and there were not enough computers with Internet access. We called Niki at the Embassy Suites and confirmed there is a $9.95 charge for wireless access that can be applied to your room charge.
