There is most excellent news to report. Proposition 98 went down in defeat and it was really not even close. Statewide 61% voted no. Marin county voted no 67.3%, Sonoma 69%, and San Francisco voted no with a whopping 74.67%. Apparently, 99 was fine winning statewide by 62.5%. Marin county voted yes on 99 by […]

Creating a Ruckus Edition
June 2, 2008
Maven has apparently caused only a wee ruckus by complaining about negative mailers. After writing about a huge string of anti-Nation mailers, there was an anti-Leno television ad and a mailer that has caused quite a stir.
I thought I made it real clear that I object to all attack ads regardless of who they […]

May 29, 2008

The “Will of the Voters” Begins at Home
May 23, 2008
There is still talk of Michigan and Florida being seated due to the Clinton’s camp claims of disenfranchisement. What about the disenfranchisement of all the states who followed the rules and had no idea that the rules would basically be rendered meaningless. If the DNC allows these states to sit down at the convention, it […]
Post Headcold Edition: Night Time Children’s Cold and Cough Syrup Rocks
May 21, 2008
I slept like a baby through last night’s episode of The Endless Primary Show. I couldn’t take any more sadness about Ted Kennedy or China. I have been suffering through this head cold from hell since I got back home from going to Carole Migden’s house party. It started with a sore throat, and […]
Nation-al News Edition
May 12, 2008

[Can I say that it is getting to the point I cannot even bear to watch the news? First Myanmar’s tragic typhoon, then the heartbreaking tornadoes in the mid-west, and now a devastating earthquake in China. I have already read about a woman who died sheltering her four year old son […]
600 Gather for Social Justice in Marin
May 12, 2008
On Thursday, May 8th, Marin Organizing Committee held an Action Assembly at St. Raphael Church in San Rafael. This event was the organization’s first and drew record standing room only crowds. As far as anyone knows 600 people is the largest gathering of its kind in Marin history. In my experience, it was by far […]
Coming Up….
May 10, 2008
Things I am working on while I am being a soccer mom, host to my mother-in-law, and backlogged on my laundry.
- “Oh, No She Didn’t! More Tales from the State Senate Debate.
- Video of Friday, May 9th State Senate Debate
- Observations from the Fundraisers (need to attend a Migden gathering to be fair)
- My thoughts […]
That’s Just Cold Edition
May 10, 2008
Woolsey previously endorsed Carole Migden, now she is double endorsing for…wait for it…wait for it…Anybody but Joe Nation. That’s cold. One of my favorite political blogs, Liberal Values, posts a Clinton quote from USA Today that made my jaw drop.
“I have a much broader base to build a winning coalition on,” she said in an […]

The Humpday Roundup
April 30, 2008
On the way to Mark Leno’s fundraiser I got stuck in Southbound traffic on 101. Guess what? The 580 ramp is done!
Rumble in the Bubble
Oh, by the way, I am not paying you royalties Brian Leubitz. You could come up to try to collect, but it will cost you 5 bucks and a lot […]
A Meditation on When National and Local Politics Collide
April 30, 2008
When national and local politics collide or when Clinton supporters and Obama supporters collide it feels like a B-Sci-fi-flick.
I was invited by Mark Leno’s people to join them for a fund raiser, and I went as an observer as I had not endorsed any candidate (still haven’t).
Prior this event, I read Dick Spotwood’s article about […]
The State Senate Debate, Opening Statements
April 26, 2008
Each candidate for State Senate got a 2 minute opening statement. In their opening statements each candidate really established their differences early. Joe Nation focused on education and jobs, but also local issues up here in the North Bay like the Rohnert Park casino proposal. He pledged to never vote to suspend Proposition 98, an […]
Last Night’s State Senate Forum
April 25, 2008
Evelyn Woo and everyone at the 6th Assembly District Democrats Club should really pat themselves on the back for putting together last night’s State Senate Forum at College of Marin. Joe Nation, Mark Leno, and Carole Migden all showed up last night and the evening really did give you the feel for each candidate.
