Maven loves getting mail. Especially, if it has to do with something I wrote and even if a person disagrees with me. So I got and email from Joe Nation. Here is what I wrote back.
Dear Joe,
Joe you always know where to find me and you are always welcome to share your thoughts as I [...]

Two years ago I covered the Senate District 3 race between Migden, Leno, and Nation. It was an exciting time because rarely do we get political races that capture attention of the State. In my little corner there was an interesting race with colorful candidates. From time to time, I plan to get [...]

Today, is our Assemblyman, Jared Huffman’s birthday. So we made a special Birthday Blingee. We likeys him even though he has not made hedgehogs legal in California yet nor has he allowed me the ability as an adult adoptee to access my original birth certificate (even though I can trace [...]

Richard Halstead from the MarinIJ reported that Carly Fiorina recently spoke to Marin Republicans.
“Quit talking about tax credits for small business owners if you hire someone. If you want a small business owner to hire somebody, cut their taxes.”
Maven would argue that hiring decisions are solely based on whether you have enough business to add [...]

Today Maven is in the mood to fight the good fight and there are many battles.
First of all, congratulations to Marin Mommies for being nominated for the Nicks ParentConnect Best Local Blog in the San Francisco area. It is time to take up arms and vote as many times we can for them. Even though [...]

Safeguarding the rights of others is the most noble and beautiful end of a human being. -Kahlil Gibran
After work I headed over to the always lovely Panama Hotel in San Rafael, to offer my support in the aftermath of the terrible 6-1 decision. There was a sense that this was a beginning of a new campaign [...]

I had a conversation with someone today over the budget and I wished that there was a website that could spell out what exactly is the problem with the budget in line with Noreen Evans video that debunked many of the myths that we have over the budget. Now there is a budget blog by [...]

It is a forgone conclusion that all propositions except for 1F went down in flames yesterday. Now there will be finger pointing, spinning, and recriminations. There will be attempts to discern what the vote means and pundits will mumble the people are an angry, spiteful mob who hate taxes and spending cuts.

Normally, Maven would love to see a beauty pageant contestant go totally off script and not give the totally vanilla answers they give. In the case of Ms. Prejean, this Miss California (really? Miss CALIFORNIA? from OUR state? really?) went and exercised her First Amendment rights for a movement that denies other citizens rights./ [...]

Sometime this week is Maven’s Birthday, so it is Maven’s Birthday Week because we started to celebrate Sunday with Mother’s Day and Maven sees no reason celebrating Maven all week.
What does Maven want for her birthday week?
Next Tuesday, May 19th, Maven would like a sound defeat of all propositions wrapped up in a bow. You [...]

Gartenzwerg: you can’t spell “pandemic” without “panic.” Heeheehee, I feel so clever. :p “PANdemIC!”
Whether you call it H1N1, Mexican Influenza, or “Hamthrax” (a new moniker found on Twitter) this past week’s appeal to fear story was the Swine Flu that probably killed less people than [...]

1D Supporter Speaks Out
Someone, yikes123, who supports 1D stopped by yesterday to question my NO endorsement. First of all, I would like to thank that person for caring enough to stop by and share how they feel about this proposition. This is just a reminder that you do not have to agree with Maven [...]

Maven would like to remind you that on Tuesday, May 19th there will be a special election where there will be 6 state-wide propositions on the ballot. I am picking 1C first. Just a heads up, Marinwood Voters are not voting at the Marinwood Community Center, but the Lucas Valley Community Center at 1201 Idylberry [...]
