Will Your Civil Rights Go Away – San Rafael Anti-Prop 8 Rally 11-15-08

Date November 15, 2008

Over 500 people attended a today’s rally against the passage of Proposition 8. It was an unseasonably warm day in the midst of November and it matched the warmth as Marin folks gathered against the measure in front of the San Rafael City Hall.

There was children everywhere. They were sons and daughters to both straight and LGBT couples who were wearing buttons of how many years they were together. You saw many with buttons of 20+ years.

Trucks and cars drove by on Fifth Street honking in support.

Local politicians Supervisor Susan Adams and San Rafael Councilman Damon Connolly spoke out in solidarity relating their feelings and connection to the issue.
