Birthday Maven

Happy Birthday to me. I have no idea how I turned 42. It just happened. This means I am old enough to remember when you had mechanical voting machines where you had to turn the crank next to the candidate you wanted. Granted I was too young to vote, but my parents let me work the levers for them. This started my absolute commitment to voting.

Ahhhh. There I did it. I dated myself.

Speaking of voting — This coming Monday, May 19th is the deadline for registering for the June 3rd election. If you are not registered, just do it and then vote on June 3rd.

Just because I am having another birthday, is no excuse not to embrace technology like the whipper-snappers do. I have signed up for Skype phone, which allows you unlimited calls within the US and Canada for 5 bucks for 3 months. This means I can call Washington DC and give Feinstein, Boxer, and Woolsey a piece of my mind. I can also call Sacramento and bother Huffman and Migden. This allows free conference calls, perfect if you want to get together and coordinate an activist event or hold a meeting with various representatives of non-profits. With a laptop with bluetooth capability and a bluetooth headset with a 33 ft radius, I can do housework and make calls for campaigns. I suggest everyone get on board the SKYPE train.
