That’s Just Cold Edition

Date May 10, 2008

Woolsey previously endorsed Carole Migden, now she is double endorsing for…wait for it…wait for it…Anybody but Joe Nation. That’s cold. One of my favorite political blogs, Liberal Values, posts a Clinton quote from USA Today that made my jaw drop.

I have a much broader base to build a winning coalition on,” she said in an interview with USA TODAY. As evidence, Clinton cited an Associated Press article “that found how Sen. Obama’s support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and how whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me.

My friend at Liberal Values points out in this article that Hillary is factually wrong about her base being needed to win in the general election. My thought about her comment is that who in this country isn’t hard working? Is she suggesting that white Americans are the only hard working Americans? Again with the claim that the only people who matter are those who vote for her. I do not want a president who will be the president of only those who support her. I had eight years of it and I am tired of it. Woolsey and Migden, if they really care about her, need to have a heart to heart and tell her enough is enough. It would be easy enough for these politicians to explain that they have changed to Obama because that is who their constituents made clear that they wanted.

At the end of yesterday’s CD-3 State Senate debate in San Rafael, Clinton supporter/endorser Joe Nation said that it is time for Clinton to step aside and perhaps form an Obama/Clinton ticket. The other two candidates said that the process should be allowed to continue.
