The Humpday Roundup
April 30, 2008
On the way to Mark Leno’s fundraiser I got stuck in Southbound traffic on 101. Guess what? The 580 ramp is done!
Rumble in the Bubble
Oh, by the way, I am not paying you royalties Brian Leubitz. You could come up to try to collect, but it will cost you 5 bucks and a lot of traffic congestion to get back to the city.
There may be a slight delay on Marinmaven as Marinmaven’s mother-in-law will be in town from Hawaii. This means I cannot go to Carole Migden’s bash tonight. It appears some democratic aides won’t be there either and not because of a schedule conflict. Neither will the editorial board of the San Francisco Bay Guardian. SF Citizen says that Carole Migden is poised to strike back like the Empire did in that second Star Wars movie. Apparently a pug “struck back” on Carole Migden’s legislative director’s canvas bag.
It seems my supervisor, Susan Adams is endorsing Joe Nation. [editors note: Mistaken identity alert!!!! There are two Susan Adams!!!! Supervisor Susan Adams is double endorsing Leno and Migden. The other Susan Adams is endorsing Nation. My bad. Self-flagellation has occured. ] Paul Hogarth, a Leno supporter over at Beyond Chron thinks Joe Nation is not as green as he says…snap! H. Brown over at Fogcity Journal responds to Hogarth by saying Leno is a “poverty pimp” and endorses Joe Nation.
Mike Opera claims Mark Leno’s campaign cheated on a Marin IJ poll. OMG! I happen to know all of the campaigns told me to vote for them on that same poll. Okay, it was me. I disabled my cookies so I can vote for all three of them! Mea culpa! I justa couldn’t choose.
If you scroll down on the comments you will find out Mark Leno has more Facebook friends than Carole. Should we really base our vote on how many Facebook friends one has? For myself, I choose to be very picky who my friends are.
Brian Leubitz at Calitics shares his thoughts about the Bay Guardian and how they always hate on Joe Nation, and then people post how “Joe Nation is an anti-progressive who must be stopped” or “a person who votes for Migden only helps the conservative Joe Nation win”. Joe Nation blogs, “I watched Mark stand with Republicans and vote to suspend Prop. 98 in 2006″.
I got my sample ballot in the mail for the June 3rd election. There are two dueling propositions involving eminent domain. Proposition 98 is a Howard Jarvis invention that uses eminent domain to also attack rent control, renters rights, and is all around a very bad, bad law that would amend the constitution. The law would also make it difficult to retrofit our water systems and do any work on our infrastructure. It should be roundly defeated and run out of town tarred and feathered.
Proposition 99 simply deals with prohibiting the use of eminent domain to take our homes and property and hand them over to private developers.
