Join Wildcare in Halting the Deer Kill in Point Reyes

Date April 30, 2008

Help Wildcare stop the killing of Point Reyes Fallow and Axis Deer by contacting Senators Feinstein and Boxer, Congresswoman Woolsey, and Speaker Pelosi. As spring fawns are born the danger is that they may starve without their mothers. It really isn’t necessary.
Our elected officials need to hear your voice by May 9, 2008!

The Fight Against the Spray Continues

Date April 30, 2008

The much hailed April 24th “postponement” of the Light Brown Moth spraying by Migden and Schwartzenegger will only temporarily delay the spraying. Marin is still scheduled to be sprayed in August 2008. This means everyone is invited to attend a panel on May 5th and attend the rally on May 10th to protest the spraying. [...]

The Humpday Roundup

Date April 30, 2008

On the way to Mark Leno’s fundraiser I got stuck in Southbound traffic on 101. Guess what? The 580 ramp is done!

Oh, by the way, I am not paying you royalties Brian Leubitz. You could come up to try to collect, but it will cost you 5 bucks and a lot [...]

A Meditation on When National and Local Politics Collide

Date April 30, 2008

When national and local politics collide or when Clinton supporters and Obama supporters collide it feels like a B-Sci-fi-flick.
I was invited by Mark Leno’s people to join them for a fund raiser, and I went as an observer as I had not endorsed any candidate (still haven’t).
Prior this event, I read Dick Spotwood’s article about [...]

The State Senate Debate, Part 3

Date April 26, 2008

Some people do live blogging of debates, but they don’t have a huge honking camera to schlep around and a 17″ laptop. So this coverage is kinda like the Olympics on NBC. Just pretend it is in real time!

The State Senate Debate, Opening Statements

Date April 26, 2008

Each candidate for State Senate got a 2 minute opening statement. In their opening statements each candidate really established their differences early. Joe Nation focused on education and jobs, but also local issues up here in the North Bay like the Rohnert Park casino proposal. He pledged to never vote to suspend Proposition 98, an [...]

Last Night’s State Senate Forum

Date April 25, 2008

Evelyn Woo and everyone at the 6th Assembly District Democrats Club should really pat themselves on the back for putting together last night’s State Senate Forum at College of Marin. Joe Nation, Mark Leno, and Carole Migden all showed up last night and the evening really did give you the feel for each candidate.

Happy Earth Day Edition

Date April 23, 2008

Okay. I started this on Earth Day and then got sidetracked about the Pennsylvania Primaries. All I am saying is I am starting to have this tingling sense that the Democratic Party is going to mess up what was their race to lose. Amazing.

Hiking Maven: Big Rock Ridge

Date April 7, 2008

Where have I been? Well, in the past few days I have been hiking in the hills behind Marinwood where I live. The weather has been too nice to stay inside and blog. If you go up Heatherstone Drive and go up Heatherstone Lane, you pass a cluster of McMansions to a watertank.
