Fighting For Our Heart’s Desire - Our Parks

My son and I have had many wonderful memories over at Heart’s Desire in Tomales Park. This place is an ideal place for parents of small children. The blue and gentle shores are perfect for little toes to wade in and the shaded trails are fun for little hikers. We have had birthday parties and impromptu trips to avoid the inland heat here.

Too bad California budget cuts threaten to close this place.

We can save this park and other parks if we all mobilize and tell our state legislators that we want to keep open our parks even if it costs a little more. We need to find a way for individuals and families to be able to vacation locally.

On April 7th, Californians from across the state will converge on Sacramento.

8:30 a.m. - 9:45 a.m: Welcome and Kickoff Meeting
Department of Health Services Auditorium at 1500 Capitol Ave, Sacramento, CA 95814.
10:00 am - Noon: Meetings with legislators at the State Capitol
Noon – 1:30 pm: Rally
1:30 pm - 5:00pm: Meetings with legislators, continued
5:00 pm - 6:30pm: Legacy Awards Reception. Catered food, drinks.

A Pre-Park Advocacy Day briefing will be held on Sunday, April 6th from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m at 1020 11th Street, 2nd Floor, Sacramento, CA 95814.
