Pan-fried Superdelegate Special

Brad Breithaupt of the Marin IJ reported from the Candidate Forum for State Senate yesterday, that superdelegate Carole Migden polled her opponents on the issue of choosing Clinton or Obama. According to Breithaupt, Leno, Alioto Veronese, and Nation all reminded her that her constituents made it clear they prefer Obama. Leno and Alioto Veronese both voted for Obama, while Nation admitted he voted for Clinton. While Migden did not reveal her choice, she has put up a website asking her constituents, ““Should a superdelegate cast his or her ballot for the candidate who wins the most pledged delegates nationally through primaries and caucuses or for the candidate they think would make the best President?”

The official word from Lynn Woolsey’s office is that there has not been any change from her original endorsement of Hillary Clinton. Judging from the talk I have been hearing from voters this controversy isn’t going away unless Obama does well enough to compel Clinton to dropout of the race.

Flame Broiled Burgers and Election Results

NorthBayist shared that Dierk’s Parkside Cafe is Sonoma County’s Politico hangout and wondered allowed where do political Marinites hang out. The Marin Libertarians meet at Roundtable Pizza at the Red Hill Shopping Center in San Anselmo, the Republicans meet at Marin Country Club or McInnis Country Club, and Obama supporters have been meeting at Noonan’s but will be watching returns this Tuesday at 5PM over at Eat in San Anselmo. Noonan’s was really nice, but very pricey. I paid 13 bucks for crabcakes and got two mini-muffin sized crabcakes that were nothing special. Their wifi connection was spotty and unreliable.

This political season one of my goals is to find a Marin political spot where we can watch debates, election returns, and where political junkies can gather. So if you are a restaurant or cafe who wants to host political Marinites, here are our demands.

- You must have a television that can be commandeered for political debates, speeches, election returns, Obama’s inaugural, etc. Yes, we like to hear the sound.

- You must have good wifi access so we can surf, live blog, phonebank, and send email.

- You must have reasonably priced food. I would rather spend the extra money towards a political campaign than 13 bucks on little, tiny, eensy crabcakes. You know what I mean?

- You must have a nice selection of coffee, wine, beer, and other beverages.
