Rockslide Steals Park
The SFgate reports that,  ”the main road to Muir Woods National Monument is closed due to a slide that was first reported Sunday afternoon. National Park Service spokesman Michael Feinstein said he didn’t expect Muir Woods Road near Panoramic Highway to open again for several days, and crews will be keeping an eye on the area for further sliding.”
Judge Steals Public Trust?Â
Also in the SFgate, “Marin County Superior Court judges have appointed Acting Court Executive Officer Kim Turner as the new top court administrator. She replaces John Montgomery who retired on March 31, 2005 and who was charged March 24 with 10 felony conflict of interest charges regarding property purchases with Linda Lau, a contract consultant for the court. It has also been reported that the inquiry was launched after learning that Lau and Montgomery owned two homes together. Montgomery and Lau were living together. Montgomery was arrested March 25 at Dulles International Airport as he was returning to the states from London. The MarinIJ wonders who is minding the store over there, while we are in wonder that sleepy Marin has a potential scandal dealing with both money and sex. Montgomery will be arraigned in Marin this Friday, April 7th.
Dognapper Steals Pooch?
Somebody snatched from a 1991 Saab, Napoleon, a 10 pound bichon frise, at the Corte Madera DMV. There is an unspecified, no questions asked reward for the safe return of Napoleon. He is pure white with slight brown markings around his eyes. Let’s bring Napoleon home.Anyone with information should call the Marin office of the CHP at 924-1100 or the family’s pager at 258-5080.
Dispatcher Steals Payroll?
While Napoleon steals our heart, apparently Tim Pasisz, a former San Rafael fire dispatcher has been charged with stealing the payroll. He was arrested on March 9th of stealing $49,772 by altering their payroll software. A preliminary hearing in Marin Superior Court is set on April 21st. He could face up to three years in prison, if convicted.
Stealing Jerry’s Potty…
Park, Public Trust, Pooches, Payroll, and now a potty! The IJ is reporting that Jerry Garcia’s toilet has been stolen after being stored in Sonoma awaiting shipment to a Canadian online casino, goldenpalace.com. They purchased it for $2,550 and is offering a $250 reward for its safe return. The toilet was to be a part of a travelling show that also features William Shatner’s kidney stones and a grilled cheese sandwich with the Virgin Mary’s face on it. We suspect that some fan may have “liberated” the potty to save it from a life on the freak circuit (and not the cool, hippie-dippie form of the word, freak).

P is for Pyramid Scheme
We have been noticing locally an extraordinary amount of buzz for stay-at-home, work-at-home opportunities. Not all of them are pyramid schemes, but they involve inviting people into your home to sell them something or interest them to sell something. We are sure these opportunities are good for some people, but we like our friends and do not want to put them in an awkward position of being asked over for commercial reasons. We know about this because we have had aquaintences who asked themselves over only to offer us an “opportunity.” Awkward. So, don’t ask us.
P is for Politician
Don’t forget that there is a candidates’ forum tomorrow night for Joe Nation’s assembly seat. The event will be held at the San Rafael City Hall – City Council Chamber (1400 5th Avenue, San Rafael - Enter parking lot between “C†and “E†Streets) on Wednesday, April 5th, 2006 from 7pm-9pm.
